Baku: Azerbaijan's State Maritime and Port Agency and Greece's Hellenic Register classification society have signed an agreement to regulate the implementation of certification and classification services for ships sailing under the Azerbaijani flag.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Libero Hellenic Register will offer services to ensure compliance with international standards and implement a quality certification system for these ships. This agreement aims to expand Azerbaijan's strategic cooperation with classification societies, contributing to the development of maritime transport.

The agreement also focuses on raising safety standards and increasing the competitiveness of Azerbaijani-flagged ships in both local and global markets.
