Ganja: The remains of Nofel Jahangir oglu Asgarov, a missing martyr of the First Karabakh War, have been handed over to his family in the city of Ganja, APA's local bureau reports. A farewell ceremony was held at the house where his family resides, attended by city officials, representatives of the public, law enforcement officers, families of martyrs, war participants, and other community members.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, following the funeral prayer, the remains of Asgarov, a tank serviceman, were laid to rest at the Martyrs' Alley in Ganja. Prayers were recited for his soul, and a volley of gunfire was fired as a mark of respect. The Azerbaijani flag, which covered the coffin, was handed over to his relatives, symbolizing his sacrifice.

Nofel Jahangir oglu Asgarov was born in 1966 in the village of Borsunlu, Tartar district, but his family later relocated to Ganja. He went missing in June 1992 during battles in the village of Sirkhavand, Aghdara district, during the Karabakh war. Asgarov was married and had two children, whose memories of him will now be accompanied by the honor and recognition he has received posthumously.
