Gunay Afandiyeva: Azerbaijan Stands at the Forefront of Regional and Global Dialogue

Baku: 'President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum has confirmed our country's political prestige on this platform. It further showcased Azerbaijan's vital regional role, its unwavering support for the Turkic world, and its proactive engagement in international processes. Simply put, Azerbaijan stands at the forefront of both regional and global dialogue,' said Gunay Afandiyeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Milli Majlis Committee for Culture.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Afandiyeva emphasized that the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva at the forum is a comprehensive presentation of Azerbaijan's large-scale diplomacy to the world. It symbolizes the unity of Azerbaijan's political power with its cultural-humanitarian strategy. The President's international policy, combined with First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva's efforts to promote intercultural dialogue on international platforms, demonstrates Azerbaijan's multifaceted foreign policy.

Afandiyeva highlighted that the President's meetings at the forum reflected Azerbaijan's foreign policy across Europe, the Middle East, the Turkic world, and the broader Islamic world. President Ilham Aliyev's bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Trkiye and Northern Cyprus exemplify Azerbaijan's commitment to maintaining the 'line of brotherhood' as a key direction on its diplomatic map. These interactions underscore Azerbaijan's approach to developing political relations based on historical and cultural ties aligned with national interests.

Furthermore, Afandiyeva noted the strategic partnership within the Islamic world, pointing to President Ilham Aliyev's meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif as a continuation of relations grounded in mutual support across political, military, and economic fields, alongside shared religious bonds.

Additionally, Afandiyeva mentioned that the head of state met with Ahmad Al-Sharaa, the transitional leader of Syria. The meeting emphasized the development of ties between the two nations and the importance of energy cooperation following recent changes in Syria. This reflects Azerbaijan's constructive position, its agile diplomacy in the region, and its openness to future cooperation. Similarly, the meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu highlighted Azerbaijan's valued partnership and support in the energy sector.
