Baku: Member of the Milli Majlis, Gunay Afandiyeva, has put forward a proposal to hold international discussions on medical achievements as part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress. This proposal was made during the first meeting of the spring session of the Milli Majlis Committee on Healthcare.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Afandiyeva highlighted that the Turkological Congress extends beyond cultural, linguistic, and historical matters to serve as a respected platform for addressing challenges in social policy, public welfare, and human capital development in the Turkic world. She recalled the significant involvement of medical and healthcare professionals in organizing the Congress a century ago.

Gunay Afandiyeva suggested that, in honor of this historic milestone, a large-scale public hearing or event could be arranged. This could be achieved through collaboration among the Milli Majlis Committee on Healthcare, TURKPA, the Milli Majlis Committee on Culture, and the Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Connections.

The deputy stressed the importance of holding international events with representatives from relevant institutions across Turkic countries. These events would aim to provide a thorough review of the medical field's achievements over the past hundred years.
