Hikmat Hajiyev Engages in Geopolitical Dialogue with Economist Jeffrey Sachs in Baku

Baku: Hikmat Hajiyev, the Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, met with renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs during his visit to Baku. Hajiyev shared details of the meeting on his X account, emphasizing the engaging nature of their discussion.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the conversation between Hajiyev and Sachs covered a range of topics, focusing on Azerbaijan's significant role in regional geopolitics. They discussed sustainable development, geopolitics, geoeconomics, the Caspian region, and Azerbaijan's emerging status as a middle power. Hajiyev highlighted Azerbaijan's peace agenda and the importance of regional ownership in their dialogue.

Additionally, Hajiyev mentioned Sachs' 'Marco Polo - Drive of Peace' initiative, which aims to promote dialogue and connectivity by traversing the East-West route using electric vehicles. Hajiyev described the initiative as an example of fostering dialogue and connectivity in the region.
