Baku: 'Mexico's principled stance in support of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity during the occupation was of particular importance,' said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration. He made these remarks while addressing an official reception in Shusha, marking Mexico's Independence Day.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico are built on mutual respect and adherence to the norms and principles of international law. Hajiyev highlighted Mexico's steadfast support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, noting that this support was especially significant during the period when Azerbaijani territories were under occupation. He stressed that these principles form the strong foundation of Azerbaijan-Mexico relations.
Hikmet Hajiyev further noted the ongoing political consultations and dialogue between the two countries. He added that Azerbaijan and Mexico share common positions on several issues on the international agenda, underscoring the continuation of their collaborative efforts in various spheres.
