Aghdara: The opening ceremony of the International President Cup 2026 regatta, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held in the Aghdara district.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized the importance of holding the competition in the Sarsang reservoir. The Minister also acknowledged the efficient organization of the event.

The ceremony was followed by athlete performances in various categories including academic rowing, kayaking, canoeing, dragon boat racing, and sailing.

The competition is scheduled to continue from April 30 to May 1 at the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir.
