Int’l Observers Affirm Legitimacy of Georgian Elections, Says Prime Minister


TBILISI: International observation missions have confirmed the legitimacy of Georgia’s recent elections, according to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. During a press conference, the Prime Minister cited the findings of these missions, which found the elections to be competitive and in line with international standards.

According to Trend News Agency, the observation missions highlighted that the elections reflected the current political reality and specifically mentioned an “elected government” in their evaluations, thereby endorsing the legitimacy of the electoral process. Kobakhidze underscored the significance of this acknowledgment, emphasizing that it serves as a clear affirmation of the election’s integrity.

Prime Minister Kobakhidze extended his gratitude to all the observation missions for their diligence in monitoring the elections. He noted the transparency maintained throughout the electoral process, pointing out that Georgia had invited observation missions since February to ensure the
elections were conducted transparently and fairly.
