Iran Advocates for Peace but Readies for Conflict, Foreign Minister Declares


ISTANBUL: Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to peace while preparing for any potential conflicts during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The discussions, held in Istanbul, focused on the escalating tensions in the region, with both countries expressing concern over the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s strong support for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon. He highlighted the serious threat posed by the spread of war in the region, stressing Iran’s dual approach of advocating for peace while being ready for any scenario that may arise.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also praised Turkey’s stance in supporting the Palestinian people, acknowledging the country’s efforts to stand against what he described as Israel’s crimes. Araghchi criticized Israel’s actions, accusing the nation of disregarding boundaries in its conduct of war crimes.
