Iranian Deputy Minister Calls for Inclusive Urban Planning at WUF13

Baku: Iranian Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction, Habibollah Taherkhani, emphasized the importance of creating equal opportunities for all segments of the population in modern urban planning during his participation in the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13). Taherkhani highlighted that future cities should prioritize people's comfort and environmentally friendly public transport systems. He pointed out that areas selected for new city development need to be suitable for infrastructure construction to ensure proper and well-planned urban systems.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Taherkhani stressed that future cities must be resilient to natural disasters and provide decent living conditions for all citizens. He warned that excluding parts of society could lead to social injustice and emphasized that Iran is actively addressing these issues in its urban policies. Taherkhani praised the organization of WUF13 and remarked that Baku's infrastructure meets modern standards, providing comfortable living conditions.

The deputy minister further mentioned that Iran is currently focusing on rebuilding damaged cities using new technologies. The reconstruction efforts are geared towards enhancing mobility, comfort, and accessibility, aligning with the broader goals of modern urban planning as discussed at the forum.
