Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Araghchi Addresses Drone Attacks on Nakhchivan

Baku: Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has confirmed that investigations are underway regarding the recent drone attacks on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the announcement followed a phone conversation on March 5, 2026, between Minister Araghchi and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov. During the call, Bayramov condemned the attacks, which were purportedly carried out by Iran. He expressed strong disapproval, highlighting that such actions contradict international legal norms and exacerbate regional tensions.

The Iranian minister expressed concern over the incident and confirmed that both Iranian authorities and the military are conducting a thorough investigation. He also conveyed wishes for the swift recovery of civilians who were injured during the attacks.
