Astana: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian paid an official visit to Kazakhstan, where he met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The meeting, held in Astana, included joint statements to the press, where Tokayev highlighted Iran’s high international standing and its role as a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the Middle East. He expressed optimism that Pezeshkian’s visit would significantly enhance bilateral cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Tokayev pointed out the considerable potential for strengthening the relationship between the two nations, particularly in transport and logistics. Meanwhile, Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s commitment to fostering good-neighborly relations with the Central Asian region.

Pezeshkian remarked on Kazakhstan’s importance as a regional partner and neighbor bordering the Caspian Sea. He shared that discussions with Tokayev covered a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, production, mining, transport and logistics, science, culture, and new technologies. Pezeshkian expressed optimism about seeing tangible results from these negotiations soon, noting that the positions of Iran and Kazakhstan align on international issues.
