Baku: The President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, has reaffirmed the organization's commitment to aiding Azerbaijan in its reconstruction and development endeavors. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Development Bank Group's 2026 Annual Meetings, Al Jasser highlighted the historical significance of Azerbaijan's geographical position in connecting regions and fostering opportunities.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Al Jasser emphasized that Azerbaijan's narrative extends beyond connectivity, embodying resilience and renewal. He shared insights from his recent visit to Shusha, a culturally rich city in the Karabakh region. Al Jasser praised figures like Khurshidbanu Natavan, a poetess and philanthropist, as symbols of cultural resilience and compassion. He was particularly moved by the words of People's Poet Mohammad Araz, which he quoted to illustrate the enduring spirit and hope of the Azerbaijani people.
Al Jasser expressed pride in the Islamic Development Bank Group's role as the first multilateral development bank to visit the liberated territories of Karabakh. He reiterated the bank's dedication to supporting Azerbaijan's efforts in reconstruction and development, underscoring the importance of their partnership in achieving these goals.
