Jerusalem: Israel and Azerbaijan have signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of artificial intelligence, the Prime Minister's Office announces, APA reports citing Times of Israel. The agreement marks a significant step in the collaborative efforts between the two nations, aiming to enhance their technological capabilities and partnerships.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the memorandum was signed by the head of Israel's National Artificial Intelligence Directorate, Gen. (res.) Erez Eskel, and Azerbaijani Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. The PMO statement highlights the intention of both countries to deepen their ongoing alliance through advancements in artificial intelligence.
The partnership will focus on several key areas, including supercomputing infrastructure, the application of AI in critical civilian sectors, human capital development, and joint research initiatives. Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized the importance of being at the forefront of technological innovation, stating, "We must ensure that we are among the leading countries in this field, and I think we can do much more, and do it better, together."
