Istanbul: A forum titled 'Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth: Unity and Development' was held in Istanbul. Co-organized by Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Associations (TADEF), the two-day event brought together 29 Azerbaijani young people from 28 countries, alongside diaspora activists representing friendly countries of Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Valeh Hajiyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, addressed the opening ceremony, highlighting that Youth Day signifies the care shown by National Leader Heydar Aliyev toward the Azerbaijani people and its youth. Samil Ayrim, a member of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye and head of the Azerbaijan-Trkiye interparliamentary friendship group, spoke about Azerbaijan's Victory in Garabagh, emphasizing the responsibility of youth to convey this historic victory of the Turkic world to future generations. He noted that the value Azerbaijan places on its youth and the efforts by National Leader Heydar Aliyev to enhance youth education are being successfully continued under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership.
Abdullah U§gun, District Governor (Kaymakam) of Bagcilar in Istanbul, highlighted the significance of the phrase 'One nation, two states,' remarking that with the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), this concept symbolizes unity among all Turkic peoples. Teymur Rzayev, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan and professor at Istanbul's Yeditepe University, emphasized the role of Turkic youth as an example of unity worldwide.
Adalet Turan, head of TADEF, stressed the importance of young people contributing to their country's future. The forum also included views from young participants from various countries and continued with a video presentation showcasing the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora and summer camps for diaspora youth.
