Nakhchivan: An Italian geophysics company is currently carrying out geophysical surveys around the Momine Khatun Mausoleum in Nakhchivan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mattia Balestri, a specialist from the Italian geophysics company Geostudi Astier srl, mentioned that the company is collaborating with a local company to identify and address challenges related to the mausoleum. The focus of the project is to conduct geophysical studies to aid in this effort.
Balestri highlighted that one of the primary methods being employed is a ground-penetrating radar system. This system can identify underground objects at depths of two to three meters. The main objective is to detect underground cavities and potential water sources.
Additionally, a scanner is being utilized at the site as another geophysical method. This scanner facilitates the creation of a three-dimensional cloud model of the area.
