Kazakhstan, France Explore New Avenues for Investment Cooperation


ASTANA: Kazakhstan and France are exploring new opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation, focusing on existing enterprises with French investments in Kazakhstan.

According to Trend News Agency, the discussions took place during a meeting between Alibek Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Sylvanus Guioguet, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Kazakhstan. The meeting highlighted France’s status as a strategic foreign investor in Kazakhstan’s economy, with total investments exceeding $19 billion since 2005.

Kuantyrov expressed Kazakhstan’s interest in collaborating on projects in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and renewable energy. Ambassador Guioguet reiterated France’s commitment to supporting Kazakhstan’s ongoing economic diversification, emphasizing the growing number of French-invested projects within the country’s investment portfolio. Notable companies involved in priority sectors include Alstom, TotalEnergies, Air Liquide, and Lacta
lis.

Following the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their collaborative efforts to strengthen investment cooperation.
