Kazakhstan Shuffles Diplomatic Assignments, Appoints New Ambassadors

Astana, Kazakhstan – In a series of decrees, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has made significant changes to the country’s diplomatic representation in several European countries, enhancing its international relations framework.

According to Trend News Agency, Sergey Nurtayev was relieved from his concurrent duties as Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Sweden and Denmark. Following this, Olzhas Suleimenov was appointed to these significant positions, marking a fresh diplomatic approach in these Nordic countries. Additionally, Askar Zhumagaliyev was dismissed from his role as the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands and as the Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

Kairat Abdrakhmanov was appointed to replace Zhumagaliyev, taking over responsibilities in the Netherlands and continuing Kazakhstan’s involvement with international chemical weapons prohibition efforts. These appointments and dismissals reflect a strategic reshuffle intended to strengthen Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions and international standing.
