Khankendi: The 11th Vugar Hashimov Memorial, commemorating the late Azerbaijani grandmaster and European champion Vugar Hashimov, will be held in the city of Khankendi.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, alongside Azerbaijan’s Rauf Mammadov and Aydin Suleymanli, the tournament will feature prominent grandmasters including Ian Nepomniachtchi (FIDE), Amin Tabatabaei (Iran), Vladimir Fedoseev (Slovenia), and Nodirbek Yakubboev (Uzbekistan).

Organized by the Vugar Hashimov Chess Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, the Vugar Hashimov Memorial 2025 will take place from December 9 to 11.
