Krasnodar Secures Historic Victory to Clinch Russian Football Premier League Title

Krasnodar: Krasnodar became the champion of Russia for the first time in history, APA reports. The club, owned by businessman and founder of the Magnit chain of stores Sergey Galitsky, secured their victory by defeating Moscow Dynamo 3-0 in the final game of the Russian Football Premier League (RPL).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the competition for the championship was intense, with the outcome only decided in the last round. Krasnodar edged out St. Petersburg Zenit by a single point. Zenit, chasing their seventh consecutive championship title, faced a significant challenge, particularly as this year marked their centennial. In honor of this milestone, Zenit donned retro uniforms for their final match against Grozny's Akhmat.

Sergei Galitsky's Krasnodar faced Moscow Dynamo, a team competing for bronze, in the decisive game. On the day of the final, the club's flag was prominently displayed in Krasnodar's main square. Sergey Galitsky attended the match in person, witnessing his team's historic triumph from the stands.
