Tashkent: Experts from the Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan and the Off-Budget Pension Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan have successfully concluded discussions in Tashkent, reaching consensus on draft agreements concerning pension and social insurance.
According to Trend News Agency, the preliminary accords focus on state social insurance and pension provisioning, along with a governance framework for their implementation. The documentation aligns with current national laws, and the supplementary documents have been synchronized as well.
The agreements aim to ensure equitable pension and social insurance entitlements for citizens of both Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, while reducing the risk of dual insurance contributions. Key provisions include the recognition of insurance periods from both countries for pension eligibility, the direct disbursement of pensions without deductions for delivery expenses, and regulations to prevent dual contributions during secondment and term extensions.
The implementation of these agreements is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and promote broader socio-economic cooperation, particularly in significant infrastructure projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway initiative.
