Khojavend: A landmine explosion occurred on August 7, 2026, in the territory of the Gizilgaya village of the liberated Khojavend region.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the incident was reported by the Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).

The explosion took place when a bulldozer, operated by Abbasov Elchin, a resident of Gazakh district born in 1961, struck a landmine in an area that had not yet been cleared of mines. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the blast.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, which is currently being conducted by the Khojavend district prosecutor's office.
