Baku: The trajectory of relations between the U.S. and Azerbaijan over the past year has been remarkable, according to Glen Howard, President and Chairman of the Saratoga Foundation. In a conversation with AZERTAC, Howard remarked on the significant developments achieved in the relationship between the two nations, highlighting the visit of the U.S. Vice President to Baku and the meetings of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the White House.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Howard emphasized the strengthening ties between the U.S., Azerbaijan, and Armenia, noting the role of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) in enhancing economic cooperation and connectivity in the South Caucasus and Caspian region. He suggested that despite ongoing conflicts, particularly with Iran, a possible normalization process could benefit the entire region economically.

Howard also pointed out the strategic importance of Azerbaijan in facilitating transit routes through the region, which has improved Baku's standing and influence in the South Caucasus. He expressed optimism about the future, citing the removal of obstacles in U.S.-Azerbaijan relations and the potential permanent lifting of Section 907 sanctions. Howard concluded by reiterating the exceptional progress in bilateral relations over the past year and the promising outlook for continued development.
