Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani in a meeting with his Afghan counterpart Abdelraouf Ebrahimi here on Tuesday called on the regional countries’ collective efforts to help Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism, IRNA reported.
‘Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism had made breakthroughs, but the regional countries should help Kabul in the regard,’ Larijani said during the meeting on the sidelines of a meeting of parliament speakers of the Eurasia region.
Larijani also extended his condolences on the sad occasion of the terrorist attacks in Kabul to the bereaved families of the victims, Afghan government and nation.
‘Now it is time to think seriously about fighting terrorism in the region,’ he added.
Larijani also met with his counterparts from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on Tuesday morning.
Eurasia parliamentary meeting opened by messages of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in presence of speakers from 19 countries parliament speakers.
Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan Republic, Belarus, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, South Korea, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines and Czech Republic have taken part in the conference.
