Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva Participate in Beekeeping Fair Showcasing National Honey Products

Baku: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and head of the IDEA Public Union, along with Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, attended the 25th Anniversary Traditional Republican Exhibition-Sale Fair of Beekeeping Products. During their visit, they explored various stands and examined different types of honey and beekeeping products. The Aliyevas engaged with beekeepers, discussing production processes, quality indicators, and the potential for sales, all while posing for photographs with the participants.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the fair gathered more than 280 beekeepers from 43 districts across the country. The event also featured participants from the ‘Young Beekeeper’ project, initiated by the IDEA Public Union to foster employment among young families and support eco-entrepreneurship. Four young families involved in the project presented a combined total of 1128 kg of honey at the fair.

The ‘Gullu Yaylag’ beekeeping cooperative from the Khojaly district marked its inaugural participation in the fair. Founded by Ganira Asadova, a resident of Ballija village in Khojaly district, the cooperative focuses on advancing women’s employment in agriculture, preserving local beekeeping traditions, and promoting eco-friendly products. Comprising five members, the cooperative showcased six types of beekeeping products totaling 400 kg.

Products from participants of the ‘Kalbajar Honey Festival 2025,’ held in September in the Kalbajar district under Leyla Aliyeva’s initiative, were also featured at the fair. The support for Kalbajar honey, as expressed by President Ilham Aliyev in his speeches, highlights the high value placed on the district’s honey quality and promotion. Kalbajar honey is recognized for its natural properties and quality, establishing it as one of Azerbaijan’s national brands.

The fair offered customers over 100 tons of honey and more than 15 types of beekeeping products, showcasing the breadth and quality of Azerbaijan’s beekeeping industry.
