Baku: Azerbaijan is undertaking significant reconstruction efforts, as noted by Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts. Speaking at the event titled 'From Urbicide to Revival: Sustainable Reconstruction, Resettlement and Development in Azerbaijan's Liberated Territories' during WUF13, he highlighted the large-scale revival of these areas.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov emphasized the challenges faced due to widespread mining in Aghdam and Fuzuli. He reported that 60% of Aghdam, 15.9% of Khojavend, and 77.28% of Fuzuli have been cleared of mines. Specifically, 37,385 mines and unexploded ordnance were detected in Aghdam, 51,640 in Fuzuli, and 26,281 in Khojavend.
Huseynov also mentioned the progress of the Great Return process, which is advancing rapidly. Sixteen highways, 10 substations, 5 water reservoirs, and 4 main gas pipelines have been completed. In total, 3,468 families and 13,697 people currently reside in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend. Specifically, 7,209 individuals live in Aghdam and its villages, 3,172 in Fuzuli, and 3,316 in Khojavend and its surrounding areas.
