On February 20, an exhibition of carpets taken out from the Shusha Museum of Carpets on November 1 last year will open in Armenia, Armenian media reported.
In this regard, the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan issued a statement calling the actions of the Armenian side theft and appropriation of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
The statement noted that such actions are a violation of international law in accordance with article 11 of the 1970 Convention on the Prohibition and Prevention of the Illicit Import, Export and Illicit Transfer of Cultural Property.
The actions of the Armenian authorities “are a vivid example of Armenia’s disrespect for international conventions, in which it is a partner and a party.”
