Tbilisi: Last month, money transfers worth $2.76 million were sent from Azerbaijan to Georgia, as stated in a report by the National Bank of Georgia, APA's local bureau reports. This figure represents a decrease of 19.42% compared to the same period last year, highlighting a significant reduction in the financial flow between the two neighboring countries. Azerbaijan's contribution accounted for 0.81% of the total money transfers received by Georgia during this period.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, money transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan experienced a notable increase. The amount reached $7.28 million, which marks a 38% rise compared to the same period of the previous year. This indicates a contrasting trend in the financial exchanges between the two nations, with Georgia sending significantly more funds to Azerbaijan than it received.

In May, Georgia received a total of $339.85 million in money transfers from foreign countries. Meanwhile, the total volume of funds transferred from Georgia to foreign countries amounted to $37 million, further illustrating the broader context of international financial exchanges involving Georgia.
