Nearly 3,000 People Evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan Amid Rising Concerns

Baku: A total of 2,949 people have been evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan from 08:00 on February 28 to 10:00 on March 23. This extensive evacuation operation has involved citizens from 77 different countries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, among those evacuated, 488 are Azerbaijani citizens. A significant number of evacuees also include 722 from China, 325 from Russia, 198 from Bangladesh, 187 from Tajikistan, 148 from Pakistan, and 162 from India. Other notable numbers include 80 from Oman, 68 from Indonesia, 54 from Iran, and 44 from Italy.

The operation has also facilitated the evacuation of citizens from various other countries, including 30 from Algeria, 26 from Spain, 23 from Germany, 22 from Canada, 19 from France, and 18 each from Saudi Arabia and Japan. Additionally, there are 17 from Georgia, 15 from Uzbekistan, and 13 each from Poland, Switzerland, and Nigeria.

Further, the evacuees include 12 from Hungary and Bahrain, 11 each from Kazakhstan, Mexico, and the United States, and 10 each from the United Kingdom, Belarus, Bulgaria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Smaller groups consist of 8 from Brazil and Sudan, 6 from the UAE, Slovakia, Belgium, and Romania, and 5 each from Serbia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, Vietnam, and Greece.

Additionally, there are 4 each from Jordan, the Philippines, Trkiye, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Finland, and the Netherlands. The list also includes 3 each from Qatar, Croatia, Denmark, and Norway; 2 each from Nepal, Lebanon, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus, Myanmar, and Slovenia; and 1 each from countries like Tunisia, South Africa, the Maldives, Cuba, the Vatican, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Egypt, Belize, and the Dominican Republic.
