Baku: In January of this year, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to foreign countries decreased by 1.4% compared to January last year, amounting to 151,900 people.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 35.8% of citizens traveled to Trkiye, marking a 2% decrease compared to January last year. Meanwhile, 15.8% visited Russia, reflecting an increase of 1.5%. Visits to Iran saw a rise of 13.3%, accounting for 12.3% of the travelers. In contrast, travel to Georgia decreased by 17.6%, comprising 9.8% of the total. The remaining 26.3% of Azerbaijani citizens traveled to other countries, which saw a slight decrease of 1.1%.
Of those who traveled abroad, 66.3% were men, while 33.7% were women. During the reporting month, 69% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 29.5% opted for rail and road transport, and 1.5% traveled by sea.
