More than 444,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection were registered worldwide in the past day, with the overall number of such cases exceeding 102.58 million, the World Health Organization (WHO) said in its daily bulletin on Monday, APA reports quoting TASS.

 

As of 22:26 Moscow time on February 1, as many as 102,584,351 novel coronavirus cases and 2,222,647 coronavirus-associated deaths were registered across the globe. The number of confirmed cases grew by 444,580 in the past 24 hours and the number of fatalities increased by 10,885.

 

The WHO statistics is based on officially confirmed data from the countries.

 

North and South America accounts for more than 58% of the COVID-19 daily tally (258,396 cases). Next are Europe (116,369 cases), and Southeast Asia (25,989 cases).

 

 

 

 

 

The biggest number of coronavirus cases was reported from the United States (25,817,939), India (10,746,183), Brazil (9,176,975), Russia (3,868,087), the United Kingdom (3,817,180), France (3,145,586), Spain (2,705,001), Italy (2,553,032), Turkey (2,477,463), Germany (2,221,971), Colombia (2,086,806), and Argentina (1,922,264).
