Baku: The number of people resettled to the liberated territories and the employed population last year has been announced, APA reports. This was reflected in the 'Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025,' which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during 2025, a total of 3,893 families, comprising 15,781 people, were resettled across various regions. Specifically, Jabrayil saw the resettlement of 376 families (1,704 people), while Shusha welcomed 8 families (23 people). Khojaly, Kalbajar, Fuzuli, Lachin, and other areas also received new residents, contributing to the total of nearly 30,000 internally displaced persons who have been provided with homes in these territories. The overall population in these liberated areas now stands at 74,750, with many engaged in construction, public service, and other sectors. The report also highlighted employment developments within these regions. In 2025, numerous vacancies were filled: 113 in Aghali village of the Zangilan district, 341 in the city of Lachin, 97 in Zabukh village, and 499 in the city of Fuzuli, among others. The city of Jabrayil and other key areas also saw significant employment rates, contributing to the total employment of approximately 8,000 people from the 8.7 thousand economically active individuals whose return was facilitated. In terms of self-employment, 154 people were provided with assets, and training programs were organized for 1.1 thousand people across 42 specialties at 12 vocational education institutions. Additionally, 350 internally displaced persons participated in short-term professional development training, underscoring the government's commitment to integrating resettled individuals into the economic framework of the liberated territories.
