In January-July this year, 1 million 143.600 foreigners and stateless persons crossed the state borders of Azerbaijan, of which 768.300 or 67.2% were tourists, the State Statistics Committee reports. The report says that the number of foreigners and stateless persons visiting Azerbaijan for tourism and other purposes rose by 37.4% as compared to the comparable period of 2022. At the same time, there were 200.000 tourists directly, or 37.5% more. According to the SSC, in January-July this year, 98.8% of tourists arrived in Azerbaijan by air transport, perhaps, the only opportunity available to foreigners and citizens of Azerbaijan to get into the country. Only 8,781 foreign tourists were able to visit Azerbaijan by water transport. Ad that the land borders of Azerbaijan will be "locked" at least until October 1 of this year
