Baku: Individuals who have committed crimes against Azerbaijan in Armenia must also be held accountable.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, “There are individuals in Armenia who have committed war crimes against humanity against the Azerbaijani people, and they must also be brought to justice,” stated Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, during a session with journalists.
He underscored that Armenia’s assumption of swaying Azerbaijan’s resolve through any resolutions is unfounded. Hajiyev remarked, “Armenia and its supporters are mistaken in these thoughts.” He also highlighted that the matter of compensation is under active discussion. Following the directives of the President, Azerbaijan’s relevant authorities have conducted detailed assessments utilizing modern methods to appraise the damage caused during Armenia’s 30-year occupation. This includes the destruction of cities, villages, cultural heritage, and the plundering of material and cultural assets. The compensation issue remains a distinct topic of discussion to ensure a comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
