BAKU — Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission, announced today that a significant number of observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will monitor the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 227 observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and 61 from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) are registered to observe the elections. Panahov highlighted the extensive international interest in Azerbaijan’s electoral process, mentioning that parliamentary delegations from a broad geographical area, as well as 8 invited election commission chairpersons, will oversee the elections.
