Turkestan: A delegation led by Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has visited the city of Turkestan, Kazakhstan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Within the framework of the visit, realized at the invitation of Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, the delegation of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan will first participate in the signing ceremony of the founding document of the Consultative Platform of the Supreme Election Bodies of the Member States to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). This document is expected to enhance the relations between the election management bodies of the member countries of OTS and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in terms of experience exchange.
During their visit to Kazakhstan, the delegation of the Central Election Commission will also participate in an international conference on the topic “Turkic World: Traditions, Experience, and Prospects for the Development of Election Systems.” This conference aims to foster dialogue and share insights on the development of election systems within the Turkic world.
The delegation from the Central Election Commission includes Deputy Chairman Rovzat Gasimov and Deputy Head of the Secretariat Hasan Kazimzade. Meetings are planned between the delegation and the heads of the supreme election bodies of the member countries of the Turkic States Organization. Discussions on inter-agency relations and issues of mutual interest are also scheduled to take place during this visit.
