Abu dhabi: At a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), an application was approved to grant observer status to Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, as stated by the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova. This announcement was made during her meeting with PAM President Giulio Centemero, part of her working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis, reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting, Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the significance of the 2nd session of PAM's Women Parliamentarians Forum. She noted that the Azerbaijani Parliament is keen on expanding its cooperation with PAM. Gafarova expressed her satisfaction with the approval of the application for observer status at the recent PAM Bureau meeting and conveyed her confidence that this status will pave the way for enhancing inter-parliamentary relations.
PAM President Giulio Centemero remarked on the organization's interest in fostering cooperation with Azerbaijan. The dialogue between the officials also included discussions on cooperation between the QHPS and PAM and the potential granting of mutual observer statuses. It was mentioned that addressing similar issues within both organizations provides beneficial opportunities for collaboration.
