Yekaterinburg: A person who endured torture in Yekaterinburg has been repatriated to Azerbaijan, where a medical examination is now scheduled. The head of the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Nemat Avazov, revealed that Russian operational search agencies detained at least 14 individuals, including 12 Azerbaijani citizens. Physical violence and torture were inflicted on at least 7 of these detainees.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, of the detained individuals, two have succumbed to their injuries, while two others are currently receiving medical treatment in hospitals in Yekaterinburg. One individual has returned to Azerbaijan, where investigators have arranged for a comprehensive medical examination. Additionally, pre-trial detention has been enacted for two detainees, and one has been released.
