President Aliyev Discusses Middle East Impact on Global Markets

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has highlighted the global ramifications of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, emphasizing its influence on international markets. During an interview with Euronews TV, he explained how fluctuations in oil prices, although seemingly beneficial, have broader implications that affect economies worldwide.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev pointed out that while high oil prices might initially appear advantageous, they also lead to financial instability. Many oil-rich nations, including those with significant investments in treasuries and stock markets, experience losses when market turbulence causes stock values to plummet. This, he noted, results in a paradox where gains from increased oil prices are offset by losses in financial investments.
