President Aliyev Highlights Need to Bridge Rural-Urban Gap Across Sectors

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the necessity of reducing disparities between rural and urban areas in a recent meeting focused on agricultural issues. Addressing the challenges of large-scale urbanization, Aliyev highlighted the negative trend of rural populations migrating to cities, a phenomenon observed globally.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev pointed out that many countries struggle to formulate effective strategies to counter this trend. He stressed the importance of reversing the migration flow by encouraging a return from urban centers to rural communities. Achieving this, he noted, requires minimizing the sectoral differences between rural and urban areas, ensuring equitable development and opportunities.
