Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received John Ardill, Vice President of ExxonMobil, in a meeting that underscored the strategic relationship between Azerbaijan and the global energy corporation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ardill conveyed greetings from ExxonMobil’s CEO, Darren Woods, to President Aliyev. In response, President Aliyev expressed his thanks and asked Ardill to pass on his greetings to Woods.
The discussions highlighted ExxonMobil’s enduring presence in Azerbaijan, notably through its role as a shareholder in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) project. The meeting also covered the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) slated for signing later that day between SOCAR and ExxonMobil, aimed at advancing Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector.
ExxonMobil representatives praised the conducive environment in Azerbaijan for the development of its oil, gas, and energy sectors, signaling a commitment to further collaboration.
