President Highlights Transport Projects as Backbone of Liberated Territories


Baku: ‘Transport projects are the backbone of the work carried out in the liberated territories. Approximately 3,400 kilometers of highways are being developed – so far, 44 highway projects have either been completed or are still underway,’ said President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting dedicated to transportation issues, APA reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President further detailed the progress of infrastructure projects, noting the development of 45 tunnels, 447 bridges, and 16 viaducts in the region. Of these planned structures, 28 tunnels, 392 bridges, and 9 viaducts have already reached completion, demonstrating significant advancement in the region’s connectivity.



The President also provided updates on key railway projects, stating that approximately 60 percent of the Horadiz-Aghband railway has been completed. Additionally, an impressive 94 percent of the Barda-Aghdam railway has been constructed, underscoring the swift pace of development in these critical transport links.
