President Ilham Aliyev Addresses Natural Gas Crisis Between Russia and EU at Media Forum

Shusha: President Ilham Aliyev, during his meeting with participants of the Shusha Global Media Forum, shared his views on the natural gas crisis that has arisen between Russia and the European Union.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan never intended to compete with Russia in supplying natural gas to the European Union, even when Russia was exporting over 150 billion cubic meters to Europe. He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s energy policy has always been business-oriented and devoid of political motives. The President highlighted that Azerbaijan never offered to replace Russian gas supplies and stressed that the country has never politicized its energy policy nor disrupted its gas supply.
