Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, APA reports. The meeting took place on May 17, emphasizing the continuing collaboration between the two nations.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Vucic congratulated President Aliyev on Baku’s hosting of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13). President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and recalled his official visit to Serbia earlier in February, highlighting the progress on various discussions held during that trip.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of visits at the level of heads of state and other official levels to enhance bilateral cooperation. They praised the strong political relations and identified significant potential for collaboration in sectors such as economics, energy, investments, and joint projects.
The operation of direct flights by Serbia’s national airline, Air Serbia, on the Belgrade-Baku route was noted as a key factor in strengthening ties and boosting tourism between the two countries. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on various issues of mutual interest.
