President Ilham Aliyev Attends Inauguration of Lankaran State Vocational Education Center

Lankaran: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center. Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev briefed the head of state on the facilities created at the Center.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the institution was originally established as the Lankaran Technical Vocational School in 1969. In 2018, it merged with the Lerik Vocational School and Lankaran Vocational Lyceum to form the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center. Since 2024, the Center has functioned as a public legal entity.

The Center is equipped with modern infrastructure, including training, sports, dormitory, and culinary training buildings, along with a training guest house, agricultural and workshop laboratories, a greenhouse, and auto repair and CNC workshops. Additional facilities include computer rooms, modern classrooms, a military training room, a library, a 300-seat assembly hall, and a canteen. A dormitory accommodating 53 people has been constructed, and the number of buildings has increased to seven following reconstruction.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, 962 students are enrolled in 55 groups across 42 specialties at the Center, with 385 of these students being women. Training encompasses sectors like tourism, agriculture, industry, services, IT, and alternative energy. New specialties have been introduced, such as maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles, computer networks and network administration, technical operation of program-controlled industrial equipment, cybersecurity, programming in computer systems, construction and operation of buildings, and installation and repair of electrical lines and solar panels.

The Center offers education at initial vocational, technical vocational, and higher technical vocational training levels and currently employs 138 people. It collaborates with nearly 30 public and private sector institutions in personnel training, which includes joint training programs with the private sector, industry specialists' involvement in teaching, production training, master classes, and social and innovative project implementation.
