Lachin: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the LATIFA Lachin Garment Factory, APA reports. The factory, situated in the Lachin Agro-Industrial Park, marks a significant development in the region’s economic landscape.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bunyad Gasimov, Director General of Baku Landscaping Service LLC, briefed President Aliyev on the facility’s operations and contributions to the district. The Lachin Agro-Industrial Park, which was inaugurated on August 26, 2023, with the participation of President Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, currently hosts 12 operational enterprises. The park’s expansion continues with the introduction of new businesses.

The LATIFA Lachin Garment Factory, a new addition to the industrial park, represents an investment of 1.2 million manats and promises to create 30 new jobs. The facility is expected to produce 2,000 textile items daily, including home textiles, sportswear, and exclusive clothing. This development is part of broader efforts to revitalize Karabakh and East Zangezur, regions that have experienced prolonged occupation.

The establishment of production enterprises in the Lachin Industrial Park is crucial for the application of innovative technologies and the production of export-oriented products. These initiatives are essential for the sustainable settlement of the population and ensuring employment, making Karabakh and East Zangezur integral components of Azerbaijan’s economic development. The integration of these regions into the national economy continues to be a priority for the country’s leadership.
