Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Mihai Pop?oi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, on March 6. Expressing gratitude for the reception, Mihai Pop?oi conveyed the greetings of Moldova's President Maia Sandu to President Ilham Aliyev, who in turn asked that his own greetings be conveyed to Maia Sandu.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mihai Pop?oi stated that Moldova strongly condemns the attacks carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles of Iran against Azerbaijan, emphasizing solidarity with the country on this issue. He wished those injured in the attack a speedy recovery and highlighted the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev fondly recalled his meetings and discussions with Moldova's President within international organizations. He thanked Mihai Pop?oi for Moldova's support and expressed appreciation for the strong bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova.
During the conversation, both sides praised the consistent support for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty. They emphasized the development of bilateral relations, including cooperation in political, economic, trade, and energy fields, and underlined the importance of reciprocal visits at various levels to expand ties. Confidence was expressed that Mihai Pop?oi's visit would be successful.
The meeting also included exchanges on cooperation within international organizations, the intensification of political dialogue, and other issues of mutual interest.
