Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Amanul Haq, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The formal ceremony took place on October 31, marking the beginning of Amanul Haq’s diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ambassador presented his credentials to President Aliyev, who engaged in a conversation with him. President Aliyev emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh and noted the potential for enhanced political relations and cooperation in economic sectors such as trade and investment. He also highlighted the significance of mutual support within international organizations.
The ambassador conveyed greetings from Mohammed Shahabuddin, President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, which President Aliyev acknowledged with gratitude. The Azerbaijani president requested Amanul Haq to relay his rega
rds to the President of Bangladesh and reflected on his previous interactions with President Shahabuddin. He welcomed the Bangladeshi President’s participation in COP29 and extended his best wishes for his future endeavors.
Amanul Haq expressed appreciation for President Aliyev’s remarks on bilateral relations. He underscored the importance of COP29 and praised Bangladesh’s involvement at the presidential level in the event.
