President Ilham Aliyev Receives Credentials from New Guinean Ambassador


BAKU: On January 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Oumar Kande, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea. Ambassador Kande presented his credentials to the head of state, and President Aliyev engaged in a conversation with the ambassador.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed hope that political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Guinea would continue to develop successfully. He highlighted that both countries have been active partners within international organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The President expressed confidence in strengthening the mutually supportive relations and emphasized the importance of identifying attractive areas for collaboration.



President Aliyev noted the presence of African students in Azerbaijan and the availability of scholarship programs for students from member states of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He encouraged Guinean students to take advantage of these opportunities. Additionally, he mentioned Azerbaijan’s experience with ASAN and DOST services, suggesting potential cooperation with Guinea in this field.



Ambassador Kande expressed gratitude for the kind words and conveyed greetings from the President of Guinea, Mamady Doumbouya. He extended condolences on behalf of the President of Guinea and the people of his country regarding a recent plane crash in Azerbaijan. The ambassador expressed Guinea’s interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan across various areas and conveyed hope for establishing a strategic partnership, particularly within the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.



Both parties stressed the importance of direct links between relevant economic institutions, exploring economic cooperation prospects, and exchanging delegations to further develop the economic sector. Ambassador Kande noted the good opportunities for cooperation in education, mining, and e-government sectors, expressing satisfaction with the relations within international organizations.
