Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, welcomed Saif bin Rashid bin Saif Aljahwari, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Azerbaijan. The ambassador presented his credentials during the meeting with the head of state.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the ongoing successful relations between Azerbaijan and Oman. He highlighted the productive cooperation across various fields, including international organizations, and noted the potential for further strengthening their bilateral partnership. President Aliyev conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Aljahwari, expressing confidence that the ambassador would significantly contribute to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors of the bilateral agenda.
Ambassador Aljahwari expressed his pleasure in being appointed as the ambassador to Azerbaijan. He conveyed greetings from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, wishing President Aliyev good health and continued prosperity for Azerbaijan. In response, President Aliyev extended his greetings to the Sultan of Oman.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Oman, a milestone highlighted by Ambassador Aljahwari. He recalled Leyla Aliyeva's visit to Oman earlier this year, emphasizing the importance of the meetings and discussions held during that visit in advancing bilateral relations.
The meeting also covered discussions on cooperation in the tourism sector, the establishment of a joint investment fund, and the potential for expanding its financial capacity in the future.
